Tiger Woods pledges to defend his title at ZOZO Championship 2020

Super Tiger will kick off at the tournament where he has leveled Sam Snead’s record 82 wins PGA Tour.
On 23/9, the day after the Ryder Cup match to raise the charity of four former world champions ended on Payne’s Valley, Woods confirmed his participation in the golf tournament in the upcoming October via twitter: ” I’m excited to defend my title.”

The ZOZO Championship was the PGA Tour’s first stop in Japan and just appeared on the season’s calendar last year. At that time, Woods was outstanding with an overall score of -19 and continued to make a historic milestone in his career with sticks. This year, due to the impact of the pandemic, the tournament is still under the organization from the 22nd to 25th of October, but was moved from Japan to the Sherwood Country Club in the US. The par 72 golf course in Southern California designed by Jack Nicklaus is one of the most familiar battlegrounds in Woods’ home town. Super Tiger has won the Hero World Challenge 5 times in the role of both host and golfer, with the most recent victory in 2011.
According to the 2020-2021 “Super Season” schedule of the PGA Tour, ZOZO Championship will be part of the West Coast series of events early in the season. Before the week when Woods defended the title would be two events in Las Vegas: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, TPC Summerlin (October 8-11) and the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek Stadium (October 15-18).
The PGA Tour’s “WLaw Seasons” marked the season with the most events since 1975 (51 awards). The new season will include 50 events, including 14 affected tournaments (postponed, canceled) of 2020.
